It was a provocative thought to a rebellious eighteen year old.nbsp; He had given me the book while I was being disciplined which was a rare occasion in and of itself because I always ignored it when he called me down to his office over the pa and the one class he went to look for me which was Mr. Barlow’s class I just quit.nbsp; Contrary to Stormin’ Peterson and Larry Myers, I wouldn’t serve time.nbsp; Later Andy Ras Vegas would write an ode to Gary Gillmore who was killed for a crime he did not do inspried by Norman Mailer’s “Executioner’s Song.”nbsp; Back then in their rebellion eighteen year old read deep books and had deep thoughts. The other day while I was drinking a forty up on the ledge in the woods where I couldn’t be seen, I watched the eighteen year olds play with their cellphones and ipods although I must admit the young girls did look good.nbsp; A little later on when Norm snagged me in the smoking area, he dragged me into his office.nbsp; I’m caught him off guard, however, when I bought up Turner’s concept of the closed frontier.nbsp; A lengthy conversation ensued where we touched upon the more subtler point of Turner’s thesis that day managing to avoid detention. Norm hadn’t excpected me to have read the whole book.nbsp; But I had while skipping Barlow’s class.br /br /I would go on to Clark where a lot of my professors would debunk Turner’s thesis.nbsp; After all, so many schools of historical thought would come after Turner like the progressives, social contract theorists, new revisionists and so on…the learning kept going on…just like this seeing here in this abyss…watching the leaves change…listening to me and tom on my ipod…br /br /div class=”zemanta-pixie”img class=”zemanta-pixie-img” alt=”" src=”http://img.zemanta.com/pixy.gif?x-id=8b57e444-8e8f-8380-ae16-56144f338374″ //div

Summer Fat Light…
August 18, 2009

summer light bisects the landscape fat and wide…shadows extend their tongues over the manicured lawns and silent jesting woods…the crickets began their serenda…timelessness returns to Alridge Rd….the locomotive belches its sigh carrying the agents of death to and fro between Soddom and Gomrorrah…
It’s all about the information…
August 5, 2009
I have always know this at least intuitively….years ago my history teacher Ron forman said knowledge is power.nbsp; He taught us to be critical of authority…in aside, I’m watching Hardball and they’re gloating about Bill Clinton’s role in the release from the journalists from North Korea…superficial analysis….mindless pr…american mainline it in their veins…the women are crying…why were they fucking around where they didn’t belong?…but back to the information thing…the radio dream, my novel, is based on that notion…submerging the individual into the collective unconscious…what they call crowd sourcing.
Videopoem Stands For Transparency….
August 4, 2009
Videopoem stands for transparency…so much is hidden in this world…whether it be politics or the beauty in our backyard, Videopoem seeks to expose it…imagery…music….words…all used to foment aconversation with the world…voice to the voiceless…collage at its foundation and non-linear in its execution, Videopem is not the mindless entertainment of Hollywood…if you want that go elsewere…it never has had the same opening as it stands for being in the present and in the moment…
