Patti Smith at the Beacon…

Fall breeze remembering sexuality when time was a pregnant membrane before it became cloistered with the bad breath of the suited monkeys with thier lies and pollution when my mind could wander free and easy at peace bathing in the moonlight when mattered and it seemed like people cared but that was long ago long long ago but the words keep coming they are my children my little darlings the one’s I can be affectionate about as around me die fade away compromise themselves that is their choice this is mind into the night I go wounded but not dead….

Wondering if I am going to go to yoga class today…it could be easier just to sit back and drink…of course, I did that last two days and went into a weird vision…here’s a video I made in tribute to my yoga teacher from shots taken this summer…perhaps watching it will put me in the mood…

Nite In the Qua….

Railroad tracks
I have a link to an old show which includes some spoken word poetry I did about nine years ago.
The show was entitled Nite In the ‘Qua. Check it out as it contains all the themes I like to talk about including Celine’s metaphor of journey into the night which is contrast between Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Self Representative Man” which makes the point of staying local and seeing what is in your immediate environment. America is a transient nation. A status nation. Yet in the last two years we have seen these notions completely debunked. People moving around flipping houses with no sense of roots got caught in the maelstorm. A country that has no respect for nature or its environment sinks into its own abyss bogged down in two wars and a sinking economy.

As a poet, I could intuitively sensed all this. The poem itself is a mockery of the high powered professionals who inhabit the town. They are full of their self importance and the decisions they make. Alas, see what that has got us.

At night you can walk around the town and you won’t see a living soul. It is like being on a movie set with no extras around.
