The words about a photoshoot…
November 14, 2009
The words they had disappeared….like Baudalliare’s tale of the aging poet my sheen wore off..that will happen when you work sixteen hours down in the Bronx and America had turned its back on any pretense of soul and entered first the dot come boom and then the housing boom..it was about the glitter and the gold and nothing else…they didn’t even care when the bombs returned…my so called scene caved into the fakeness that it was always destined to be..indifference, the lack of desire to leave the comfort zone, apathy, ignorance doomed it from the outset…I was left holding my dick in my hand…but the act of vision is healing…it can sustain you threw the cold winter months when you feel like puking at the preentiious airs you see so called writers putting on the cheap hustles of the petty bankers…so here is a photoshoot of the Greeley woods with the leaves just about gone
In the moment…
October 8, 2009

In the moment posted in the moment…yes, it might be a little stale…to keep posting and keep fresh is a very difficult task…how much of our lives really could be that interesting?…and if it were the interesting, wouldn’t we burn out from the intensity…just about ninety nine percent of people have no idea of what it means to maintain a blog and produce a cable access show as well as regularly post to youtube. They expect to see million dollar productions and inevitably when one doesn’t reach that exalted high they get bored and ignore it…meanwhile, not acknowledging how passiv they are in their lives..
I have found though writing in in the moment posting in the moment allows certain narratives to become apparent and a strength results from that..also what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…cast like Esau into the psychological wilderness, the isolation has not killed me..at times I have wrecked myself with alcohol or drugs coming quite close to the edge but as this post testifies I am still here breathing growing strong…
as I look around all those poeple who pretended to be economic geniuses were just riding the wave of the scam…the people my age are burnt out but the kids coming up from the rear don’t look like they have any substance and they disappear rather quickly…does anyone expect Lady Gaga to be here in a year or so?…
so today I took my nieces into Whippoorwhill Park in my ongoing nature educatioin of them….they loved it and I was psyched to capture the park in the fall…I had been there in in the late spring and in my continuing exploration of the light of the qua wanted to capture the fall light…I plan to return in 90 days or so for the winter…
so this is where I am at in the moment…with my nieces in the nature of Whippoorwhil Park…
The Art of the Mundane
September 6, 2009

The art of the Mundane…seeing transcendental beauty which lies right in your back yard…it’s not Hollywood…it’s not page Six…it’s not a tattoo…it’s not lipstick..it just is…the glowing warmth against the trunk of the tree…if you’re in the moment with it I don’t think there is anything more beautiful…warm September light mixing against the fading green of the trees…
Summer Fat Light…
August 18, 2009

summer light bisects the landscape fat and wide…shadows extend their tongues over the manicured lawns and silent jesting woods…the crickets began their serenda…timelessness returns to Alridge Rd….the locomotive belches its sigh carrying the agents of death to and fro between Soddom and Gomrorrah…
Landcapes Then and Now…
July 29, 2009
Landscapes have always defined my imagination. I remember being a very little boy and going out to my relatives place in Breezy Point which is near the Rockaways in New York. We would have epic games of hide and go seek and go swimming for hours. It was a kids paradise. Barbecues, soda and the Jackson Five blasting on AM radio…
It was the same in the woods behind our house. We would play these tremendous games of flashlight tag in the summers that seemed to last forever…
So these pictures of these landscapes here in the now…they are in the present with its own new memories to be created…
Sunset In the Qua…
July 13, 2009
Sunset in the qua in the middle of July…it’s like submerging into a Hudson River School painting from an artist like Thomas Cole or Frederick Church…the light creates a mystical effect…it was the belief of that school that synchronicity with landscape would bring the individual closer to God…they were also enamored of the notion of the sublime versus the concept of beautiful which basically went like this…the beautiful stresses symmery and reaswon and a well ordered universer whereas the sublime puts emphasis on an unordered universe where there is more emphasis on the imagination…
Magical light and the playfullness of life…
May 19, 2009

Magical light and the playfullness of light…how else can I describe what went down today?…taking my cue from Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Self Representative Man,” I find the most incredible beauty in the woods behind the house. It doesn’t matter what season it is, it’s all amazing. The thing with this time of year is that with the warm weather it makes it really easy to enjoy being out there. It’s amazing in the winter as well but you pay a price freezing your ass off.
So the magical spring continued today. I couldn’t help but take several walks through the woods possessed as I was by the light. I keep having Hudson Valley Painters on the mind and Melville and all those others. Also once they put in the extension at the Temple that piece of magic will be gone. It’s why I keep trying to get the swamp. They have plans to put a parking lot there…
The Buds Are About To Open
April 23, 2009

The buds are ingabout to open but still the chill is lingering. You can see the flowers want to bud but when the wind was blowing today you can feel the cold. It’s been that way all spring. Just like the economy. You want the cold and economic mess go away but it hasn’t. Life isn’t like that. These woods lie above the school. I have seen more light shows than any human should have been able to and for that I am grateful. I ascribe to Ralph Waldo Emerson’s philosophy. You can see magic in your backyard. It’s not like that I don’t like to travel. I used to hitchhike all the time influenced by the beats Jack Kerouac and Allan Ginsberg. Sunflower Sutra which is a recollection of Allan and Jack sitting by the debris along a river watching the sunset is a masterpiece of that genre. But there’s nothing like be able TO SEE what is in your immediate surroundings.
Existential Ramblings in the Desert through the eyes of children..
February 28, 2009

time moving fast but that is really only a human concern…the desert with the mountains overlooking them have no such concern…the Indians down the road I don’t think much bother either…the white man with his white death left them behind a long time ago…I was out in this spot three years ago…Lia and Isabella were just babies then…I didn’t have my camera then…just the Fitzell’s video camera which I used to capture the big sky sunsets…I was excited by the fact alone…youtube had just started and I had put up my first youtube video, the Genie’s Hey Fuzzy What’s UP. There was no Flickr then so I hadn’t begun this insane posting of pictures…the whole internet thing fits into my philosophy of where you are at the moment…it’s like a kerouac thing, you’re rapping about your consciousness in the moment…it’s a break down of authority…your only as good as you are in that moment…it’s like Celine’s dictum, a journey into the end of night…your travelling in your imagination…do you have the faith to ride it to it’s illogical conclusion?
Qua boy one more day in the Qua Light…
February 17, 2009

The ‘Qua boy one more day in the ‘Qua light…this morning there was a yellow glow topping off the trees and sloping down the hills. Walking down into the woods I could see the streaking shadows which are so present in the winter years. Once down the hill, when I looked backwards, I could see the light exploding over my parents house. In the town there was a quiet sense of being since the schools are out on winter vacation. It is all about the kids in this town. That is in addition how much the adults can rip off down in Manhattan and other such fancy locales. Through a freak of happenstance, I was born into being the ‘Qua boy, an action formula hero on the quest of vision and seeing.
My vision is wrapped around studying the light of the ‘qua…I wish I could make it more glamarous for you but that’s all there is to it.
